I have struggled with Saul of Tarsus, and his imagination, for some years now. I am angry at him actually. The stern rules that Pharisees lived by were picked up and "relaxed" so that Non-Jews, especially women and the poor, could have an identity that would under-cut the powerful Roman world that they lived in. Was Paul just a politician?

I am interested to read more about the intrigues that did not give precedence to Paul and those that morphed into the "Church".

Matthew 16:18

I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it.

Jesus did talk about building a church, it wasn't Paul's invention. It was the Apostle's mission to plant those churches. Paul did meet Jesus on the road to Damascus, and in that meeting, Jesus told Paul that He would teach Paul and show him what he would suffer for the sake of Christ.

Not every believer in Jesus Christ were part of the Roman Catholic church, look at the history of the Waldenses, they protested against the teachings of Rome long before 1517, and they were persecuted by the papists.

You are an interesting writer.

This article is well composed, and respectful to the Pauline believers.

Your other article on flat earth was belittling to any who believed other than what you wrote, and was disrespectful to the flat earth believers.

I will continue to read your musings, and I agree with some, neutral on others, and disagree with some.

I wish you the best in your pursuit of truth.

There is proof for a historical Jesus. None. Paul’s Christianity had a gnostic flavor and it lost out to Petrine Christianity.

This is opening my eyes to a different way of thinking. I have concluded that my purpose in life is to show love to everyone and try to live by it at all times. What is being said here rings true to me, although those who follow Paul are deceived into thinking it is the words of Jesus. I believe in the fact that Jesus gives us the right answers and I love him for what he brought to us with his words and deeds. If we all followed his teachings, we would be in heaven.

The current crisis in Gaza is endorsed by Christian Zionists here in America. They can also be referred to as Dispensationalists. This is a movement that began in the mid 1800’s. If you believe in a regathering of Jews (1948), a pre tribulation rapture, a literal interpretation of the Bible, a coming apocalypse, a millennium then you are in this camp. Wesley, Tyndale, Luther, Calvin, Ireneaus, Hyppolytus, Justin Martyr, or Origen would have strong disagreement with this strain of thought. A study of Isaiah 1 demonstrates how God feels about false doctrine within the 12 tribes of Israel. Christians today should understand that every false doctrine soaks up space that might otherwise by occupied by the spirit of God. There is specific content that must be believed (John 6) or else there is a danger of worshipping a God that doesn’t exist.

As to Paul, he had a spiritual encounter with Jesus Christ in Acts chapter 9. He declares in Galatians chapter 1 that his theology was not of men but by direct revelation from Jesus Christ. Jesus spoke in parables (Mark 4, Matt 13) because the old testament was absolutely laced with parabolic imagery ( Hosea 12:10, Proverbs, Isaiah 1, also 5, Genesis chapter 1, Jeremiah 31:31-34, Ezekiel 36, etc.). The new testament is also riddled with parabolic imagery and of course Revelation is also saddled with apocalyptic imagery that is dumb to be interpreted literally like the aforementioned Christian Zionists. With that in mind Jesus in John 17:4 prayed to the father that he had finished the work God had sent him to do. This is before the cross and the resurrection. So his work was in part to introduce himself as the Messiah fulfilling the 70 weeks prophecy (mark 1:14) that those that were waiting could readily believe. Jesus gave a short play by play, whereas Paul in his epistles gave the color commentary. It is in my opinion as a student a seamless message that those who invest in the study gain access to the spirit of God without which we can do nothing.

Buddhism has also become political in all the countries in which it took root including old Tibet.

I believe the man who became known as Jesus discovered the exact same mystery as the man who became known as Buddha. The latter had 50 years to perfect his teachings before his death in his 80s, Jesus had very little time between his enlightenment and his murder.

All well and good. And ALL of it ABRAHAMIC.... Judaism, Roman Catholicism, Protestantism, Islam, &etc., have ALL been infected & infested by satan-worshipping pedos....Humanity's ONLY hope is to reject utterly and absolutely anything and everything Abrahamic in politics.... Feel free to keep your personal religion & spirituality to yourselves.... Buddha said it better, 500 years before Jesus!
